"Team Tri-Fire" began about 10 years ago with a few members, but still running hot is B Shifts representative Technician Ron Teribery! He's been an avid Triathlete since he got "hooked" in 2009 and has been competing in Sprint Distances, and even a few grueling Olympic Distance Triathlons. This Month of April 2016 he began a new journey into the world of becoming an International Triathlete. He competed in the BFIT Barbados Triathlon in the beautiful waters of the Caribbean. He joined athletes from various countries on a 750 meter swim, a 20K bike race, and a 5K run on Sunday April 17. The race began at 6AM and was sponsored by the Barbados Federation of Island Triathletes (BFIT). He had to avoid coral reefs, as well as adjust to their tropical temperature & high humidity. Congratulations go out to Ron as he placed 2nd in his Age Group Sprint of Males 55-59. This was his first athletic adventure outside of the USA. Ron has also done numerous length races; whether it be running, swimming, or biking his way wherever he journeys. "Being a firefighter at age 55 takes a lot of work & I have to stay ahead of the "young ones", not to mention I totally enjoy doing the triathlons!" He has numerous Awards from the local area, as well as from various States, for his athletic endeavors, with plans for even more upcoming. Congratulations Ron!
